Your Task

Project #2: Encyclopedia of Digital Tools @  http://etap638.blogspot.com/

This project aims at developing skills necessary to actively contribute to the creation of cultural digital artifacts such as blogs, digital images or videos. Together we will build the Encyclopedia of Digital Tools. Your will need to post two encyclopedia entries (more entries are welcomed but not required) in the blog that was created for this activity: http://etap638.blogspot.com/. One of the entries will describe a digital tool that you actively use, while the other one will be about a tool that you will learn specifically for this course. Select any digital technology (software and/or hardware) for learning and teaching. For example, you can create an entry about software you use to create podcasts/movies/presentations or about a social networking site you may use for teaching. For an excellent list of cool technologies, please visit http://etap687.edublogs.org/2010/04/12/top-10-cooltools-for-2010/. You can also find links to tools worth learning in the Web Links under the Web 2.0 Tools category.
Your encyclopedia entries need to be 150-250 word long and include the following:
1.      Tool title (must be also in the subject line of your entry) and the link to it.
2.      Main features
3.      Level of difficulty and time required for learning for people with basic/intermediate computer proficiency
4.      (Potential) classroom application.
5.      Conclusion: Is the tool worth learning? What for?
You should post your first entry (about a tool you know and use) when we are in Module 2 and your second entry (about a tool you just learned) when we are in Module 5 (see dates in the schedule). If you wish, you can post earlier than the deadlines.

Review and comment on at least 2 encyclopedia entries composed by your colleagues. Please do not repeat your colleagues. Post an entry about the tool that nobody described yet, if possible. This activity is worth 15 points.

To add a post, click on "New Post" in the upper right navigation bar. You need to sign it to be able to add a new post.

A Message from Your Instructor
